Stream Alerts

Let your server know when a Twitch channel goes live or a YouTube channel uploads a new video - with an optional role ping, your own text and a role for the streamer while they are live.

Free Server Premium
How many
3 alerts for free, up to 25 with Server Premium. Alerts you already have stay when Premium ends.
A Twitch channel goes live, the viewer count updates, the stream ends - then a new YouTube video.

Set one up

  1. Open Dashboard › Stream Alerts and click New alert.
  2. Pick Twitch or YouTube and enter the channel - the name, the @name or simply the link.
  3. Choose the Discord channel for the posts and, if you like, a role to ping.
  4. Optional: write your own message. Leave it empty for the default.
  5. Click Save. The bot looks the channel up and shows what it found. Send test posts an example right away.
Three alerts - one live right now, one YouTube channel, one with a typo the bot couldn’t find - and the editor with its live preview.

Twitch

  • Twitch is checked every minute. When the channel goes live, the bot posts once - with the stream title, the game, the viewer count, a preview picture and a Watch Stream button.
  • While the stream runs, the post is updated every five minutes: current viewers, title, game and a fresh preview picture.
  • Streaming together with others (“Stream Together” with a shared chat)? The post shows the channel's own viewers and the group's total, e.g. 16,807 (39,321 together) - Twitch's own page shows only the total.
  • When the stream ends, the post turns grey and shows how long the stream ran.
  • If a stream drops and comes back within 10 minutes, it counts as the same stream - no second ping.

Live role

Give the streamer a role while they are live - for example to show them at the top of the member list. Open Live role in the alert, pick the role and the member who streams on that Twitch channel. The bot gives the role when the stream starts and removes it when it ends.

No Discord status needed
The live role follows the Twitch channel itself, not the member's Discord status - it works even if the member doesn't connect Twitch to Discord.

YouTube

  • YouTube is checked every five minutes. Every new video is posted with its title, thumbnail and a Watch Video button.
  • When you add a channel, its existing videos are not posted - only what comes after.
  • Videos older than two days are never announced, so a re-sorted channel can't flood your server.

Your own message

The text above the post. Placeholders:

PlaceholderBecomes
{name}The channel name, e.g. KidBoo99k.
{title}The stream title or the video title.
{game}Twitch only: the game or category.

What the bot needs
In the channel: View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links. To ping a role, the role must be mentionable or the bot needs Mention @everyone, @here and All Roles. For the live role: Manage Roles, and its own role must be above the live role.
