Starboard

Your members pick the best messages: whoever loves a message reacts with ⭐. With enough stars the bot re-posts it in your starboard channel - author, text, picture and a link back to the original - and keeps the count live.

Free Hall of Fame: Server Premium
A post on the board: the header with the stars and the channel, the message with its picture, and the link back.

Setup

  1. Open Dashboard › Starboard and choose the starboard channel - a channel of its own where only the bot posts.
  2. Pick the emoji (⭐ by default, any standard emoji or one of your server's own) and how many stars a message needs - 3 is a good start.
  3. Turn it on. Members start starring, the bot does the rest.
What the bot needs
In the starboard channel: View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links and Read Message History. In the channels being starred: Read Message History, so it can look at the message.
The top of the Starboard tab: the switch, posts on the board, stars collected, the best post and the top author.

How it works

  • Only the chosen emoji counts. Reactions by bots never count; a member's star on their own message doesn't either (switchable).
  • One post per message. The header shows the stars and the channel - ⭐ 3 · #general - and the star grows with the count: 🌟 at double the threshold, 💫 at four times, ✨ at eight times.
  • Live count. Every new star updates the post. Stars on the post itself count for the original too.
  • Below the threshold again? The post is removed - or stays, if you switch “remove below” off.
  • Deleted original - the post stays and says so. Deleted post - a moderator's decision: the message stays off the board until you put it back in the dashboard.
  • Pictures, links, replies. The first picture (attachment, link preview or sticker) is shown big; other files are linked; a reply shows what it answered. Spoiler pictures are only linked, never shown.

Rules you can set

SettingWhat it does
Stars needed1-100 different members (default 3).
Own stars countWhether a member may star their own message. Off by default.
Messages by botsWhether messages written by bots can reach the board. Off by default.
NSFW channelsMessages from NSFW channels are left out unless you allow them.
Only younger thanMessages older than this (days) can't be starred onto the board - no digging up years-old posts. 0 = any age; default 30. A message already on the board keeps collecting.
Ignored channelsChannels and categories (with all their channels and threads) that never reach the board - for example the mod channels or #spam.
Embed colourThe line on the left of every post.
Boovies bonusWith the economy on: the author gets this many Boovies once per message that reaches the board.
The settings: channel, emoji picker and stars needed; the rules with the ignore list; colour, Boovies bonus and the Hall of Fame.

The board in the dashboard

The Starboard tab shows everything at a glance: how many posts are on the board, the stars collected, the best post and the most starred member. Below, the board itself - Top, This month or Recent - with a link to every original and every post, and a Remove button for posts that shouldn't be there. A removed message can be put back any time. Send test post shows you the look in your channel before anyone has starred anything.

The live preview of a post, the board with Remove and Put back, the most starred members and the most generous ones.

Hall of Fame

Server Premium

A second channel for the very best. Set its own, higher number of stars - a post that reaches it is also posted in the Hall of Fame. Fame is for ever: a Hall of Fame post is never taken down for falling stars, only its count follows.
