Birthdays

Members save their birthday once - on the day, the bot congratulates them in your channel, with an embed or an image card, and can give them a birthday role for 24 hours.

Free Extras: Server Premium
A birthday message with the “Balloons” image card.

Setup

  1. Open Dashboard › Birthdays › Birthday Settings.
  2. Choose the birthday channel and switch birthdays on.
  3. Optional: pick a birthday role, the time and your time zone.
  4. Adjust the message - the preview shows exactly how it will look. Send test posts it to a channel of your choice.
  5. Done - members add their birthday with /birthday set.
What the bot needs
Send Messages and Embed Links in the birthday channel, Attach Files for the image card and Manage Roles for the birthday role. The role must be below the bot's own role.
Birthday Settings: channel, role, time, the message - and the live preview next to it.

Saving birthdays

  • Members use /birthday set with day and month. The year is optional - with a year the message can say “turns 25”, and show_age hides the age again.
  • Admins add, change and remove birthdays for anyone in Dashboard › Birthdays › Birthday Overview - just search the member by name.
  • If you switch off “Members can set their own birthday”, only admins add birthdays. Members can always remove their own with /birthday remove.

Birthdays on 29 February are celebrated on 28 February in years without a 29th.

The message

Choose one of three styles:

Plain text, Embed or Image card.
  • Plain text - just a message, like a member would write it.
  • Embed - title, text, colour, the member's avatar, an optional large image or GIF and a footer.
  • Image card (Server Premium) - 8 templates or your own background, with the same editor as the welcome card.

The message text can ping the member - with an embed or card it is shown above it.

PlaceholderBecomes
{mention}Pings the member (on the card: “@Name”).
{username}The member’s display name on your server.
{name}The member’s username.
{age}The new age - empty without a year.
{age_text}“turns 25” - empty without a year.
{date}The birthday, e.g. “March 4”.
{server}Your server’s name.
No awkward gaps
A line with {age} or {age_text} is left out when the member didn't give a year or hides their age. The same goes for card elements.

Birthday role

The member gets the role when they are congratulated, and the bot takes it away again after 24 hours - even if it was restarted in between.

Time & time zone

The bot posts at the chosen hour in your server's time zone (default 09:00, Europe/Berlin). If it was offline at that time, it catches up later the same day - every member is congratulated only once per year.

Server Premium extras

ExtraWhat it does
Image cardThe congratulation as a rendered image instead of an embed.
Birthday DMThe member also gets a personal message from the bot.
Monthly overviewOn the 1st of each month: a post with everyone who has a birthday that month.

Without Server Premium the extras pause - the bot sends the embed instead - but your setup stays saved.

Birthday Overview

Dashboard › Birthdays › Birthday Overview shows everything at a glance - like Ticket Activity:

  • Numbers: saved birthdays, today, the next 7 days, this month and how many gave a year.
  • Today & coming up: the birthdays of the next 30 days.
  • Birthdays per month as a small chart.
  • All birthdays with search and month filter - add, change or remove any of them.
  • The last announcements with a link to the message.
The top of the Birthday Overview.
All birthdays - search, filter by month, edit or remove.
